Utah
Just over 60% of voters in Utah chose to repeal Prohibition on November 7, 1933. That decision was later ratified on December 5th.
Utah had the honor of being the last state to repeal Prohibition of the 36 needed for the Amendment to pass. The fact that it is in a more western time zone gave it the edge over the other two states that held their conventions that day, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
An interesting story from The Los Angeles Times told of how a “respected citizen” was caught with liquor and after making bail, killed himself so as to avoid returning to prison.
